Program Goal

The Yoga Certification program offers a pathway for students who want to teach Yoga in various

settings, such as Yoga studios, dance studios, fitness training facilities, physical therapy facilities, and movement rehab or therapy centers. The curriculum of the certificate program meets the standards of the Yoga industry as outlined by Yoga Alliance, a professional association and certifying agency. This program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of Yoga, covering Yoga theory, anatomy, pedagogy, and exercise repertoire for the Mat and Reformer. The certificate includes lectures, self-integration, and practice teaching hours. After completing the program, students will be qualified to teach Yoga at all levels, including special populations and remedial programs. The Yoga teacher training program would be a beneficial addition to our community college. It is important to note that many community colleges already offer this certification, and it would be in our best interest to stay updated and aligned with other colleges offering similar programs.
