The digital art and design technology program prepares students for employment in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industries focusing on animation, 3D modeling, VFX, and game development. Upon completing these certificate requirements, students gain proficiency in 3D modeling and animation for digital art and design. This certificate includes exploration of 2D and 3D Game Art and Animation with the intention of coming away with a professional level portfolio. Competencies will be assessed by portfolios and demonstration of projects.
Anticipated enrollment completer projections is 15

Program Goals:
This certificate is one in a set of 5 stackable certificates that will prepare students for a career in Digital Art and Design Technology. The stackable certificates will feed into an AS in Digital Art & Design Technology. This particular certificate focuses on the Game Art and Animation track. The certificate supports students entering into Game Art and Animation, which there is market demand for per the LMI.
Program Objectives:
Students completing this certificate will develop skills for 2D and 3D Game Art and Animation.

New Program
This is a new proposal for a Game Art & Animation certificate, which will be the fifth which is a current industry need and essential for students who are interested in pursuing cares in Digital Art and Design Technology fields like 2D & 3D Animation, VFX, 3D Modeling, and Game Art and Animation. This stackable certificate meets the needs of industry as highlighted in the LMI data and supports the new Games & Playable Media program.
Certificates in Game Art at LACC, LBCC, LATTC, Rio Hondo
Anticipated unduplicated enrollment is roughly 30 students annually. The classes are new so this is an estimate.
