The Game Art & Design Foundation certificate of achievement and A.S. degree will provide students with a strong foundation in 3D design and modeling for game engines. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of 3D modeling, 3D animation, and building worlds with game engines. Students will gain competency in the theory and artistic aspects of game design and the creation of interactive media. In addition, students will acquire the foundation skills in the application of digital tools to create virtual environments and worlds structured for intuitive user engagement.
We anticipate having 15-20 completers per year from the Game Art and Design Fundamentals program.

Course Report
The Game Art and Design Foundation program includes eight courses from multiple disciplines in the Design and Media Arts pathway at LATTC. Students will take classes in Visual Communications, Digital Media and Game Art and Design. These eight core courses totaling 23 units will provide students with foundational skills that will prepare them for employment in the gaming industry.

New Program
The college currently has programs in Digital Media, Visual Communications and Computer Information Systems. The Game Art and Design Foundation program will provide training in the fundamentals 3D modeling, 3D animation, 3D Design and building worlds with game engines. These skills are not covered in the other related programs currently at LATTC.
