Catalog Description

The Finished Costumer Certificate equips students with the skills to acquire, organize, monitor and maintain costumes worn by principal actors and background artists for film and media productions. This program will prepare students for employment as Finished Costumers in the entertainment industry in career pathways represented by IATSE Local 705: Motion Picture Costumers.

Students will be required to take courses in Film Production and Fashion Design that will provide them with the skills needed to work as Finished Costumers in the Motion Picture and Television Industries. These courses were selected with input from Motion Picture Costumers Local 705.

TOP Code Variation: Certificate will be offered in the Fashion Design and Technology program (TOP code 0612.20), although COE utilized the 1006.00 TOP code to locate jobs for the program. Consequently, LA Trade-Tech submitted the application under the 0612.20 TOP code.
