Students will be able to apply the skills necessary for welding following the American Welding Society (AWS) guidelines. 2. Students will be knowledgeable about the required materials of the trade and can operate equipment in a safe manner. 3. Students will have the skills necessary to receive industry recognized certification in the SMAW process.
Enrollment Completer Projections
In reviewing Barstow Community College’s Welding Technology program enrollment and completion rates for the past two years, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, and the year-to-date enrollment numbers for the 2017-2018 school year. We experienced a slight decrease in enrollment and completion rates from 15/16 to 16/17. During 17/18 to-date we are experiencing similar levels of enrollment to those of the 16/17 year. We are looking at restructuring our welding program with several concentrated pathway certificates, new courses, and new technologies. We project will we maintain our enrollment trends we have experienced over the last two years. We project we will have 30 students enrolling with 10 completers in this concentrated pathway certificate every other academic year. This projection was developed by previous and current enrollment/completion trends and program demand.
