Catalog Description
The Comprehensive Medical Assisting Associate in Science Degree provides students with a balance and indepth study, practical skills and industry experience, through internship, in medical assisting front and back office procedures. Students develop critical thinking skills, hands-on classroom activities and practical work expereince in medical scribing, medical billing and coding, and medical assisting administrative and clinical procedures. Students earn an Associate Degree in Comprehensive Medical Assisting after completing all of the course work in adminstrative and clincal medical assisting as well as the general education requirements.

Program Goal
The Medical Assisting Degree program is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with technical knowledge, practical skills, classroom experience and externship opportunity in both the administrative and clinical aspects of medical assisting. Students are prepared to sucessfully pass national exams in medical assisting adminstative, clinical, billing and coding, and medical scribing.
