A certificate in Recording Arts provides focused instruction in audio technology. Students will develop competencies in sound recording, composition, songwriting, editing, mixing, and live sound reinforcement using industry-standard software and hardware such as Logic Pro, Dorico, and Pro Tools. Emphasis is placed on both creative and technical skills. As part of the program, students will be required to participate in music ensembles, ensemble recordings, music theory courses, applied music lessons, live productions, music arranging and collaborative projects.
We expect 20 students to enter the program each year and 8-10 to complete it

The goal of the Recording Arts Certificate is to provide students with focused, industry-standard competencies in audio technology. This includes practical skills in sound recording, composition, songwriting, editing, mixing, and live sound reinforcement using industry-standard software and hardware. The certificate prepares graduates for entry-level roles in the music and media industries by emphasizing both creative and technical skills and supports students seeking further specialized occupational advancement.
