New Program
The proposed Certificate of Achievement in Child Development focusing on Special Needs and Neurodiversity does not replace any existing programs in the college’s current inventory; instead, it complements our existing Child Development and Education programs. This certificate addresses the increasing demand for specialized training in early care and education, specifically in working with children with special needs and neurodiversity.
The Certificate of Achievement in Special Needs & Neurodiversity addresses the growing need for professionals trained in inclusive practices that support neurodiverse children and those with special needs. Unlike other college programs, this certificate’s lower unit count makes it more accessible to students, allowing them to gain specialized skills within a shorter time frame. Additionally, the chosen title for the certificate reflects a forward-thinking commitment to inclusivity by focusing on neurodiversity, which aligns with emerging trends in early childhood education and special needs advocacy, ensuring students are prepared for diverse, inclusive learning environments.
