This Program meets the minimum training requirements established by the California Standards and Training for Public Safety Officers to help prepare students for the challenges faced in successful criminal investigations.

Program Goal

The Public Safety Certificate of Achievement in Investigations is designed to prepare students to meet the needs of mid-level positions in criminal investigations. The curriculum prepares students with a foundation in law enforcement and provides them with the knowledge to enter various criminal investigation areas including special victims and homicide.  The skills developed in these courses will enhance the student's knowledge in the interviewing process of witnesses and potential suspects, collection and preservation of evidence and the crime scene, possible federal or state violations, deductive reasoning and analysis that leads to a successful prosecution.
