The Smart Agriculture certificate of achievement blends technical proficiency with agricultural expertise, enabling students to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success in the rapidly evolving intersection between technology and agriculture. This program will help students develop effective communication skills, foundational agronomic knowledge, critical thinking, and the application of cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems.
It is expected that enrollment will be approximately 20 students per year in the next two years as the program matures, with numbers increasing over time. Student completion is anticipated to be approximately 85% of student enrollment. These courses will be required courses within the Ag Science and Technology BS degree. The latter is under development.

The Smart Agriculture certificate of achievement blends technical proficiency with agricultural expertise, enabling students to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success in the rapidly evolving intersection between technology and agriculture. This program will help students develop effective communication skills, foundational agronomic knowledge, critical thinking, and the application of cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems.
This program, formerly listed in the catalog as the Agriculture Science Technology Local Certificate, enables students to obtain entry-level technician positions in smart agriculture. Students will develop competency in agriculture fundamentals, GPS, GIS, sensor technologies, and spatial analysis.
