Catalog Description

This program will equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment as entry-level imaging assistants in the imaging departments of hospitals and imaging centers.  The program will offer students the opportunity to gain professional experience in the field of medical imaging while also continuing their educational journey toward an associate's degree or higher to obtain higher-level employment in the medical imaging field.

Program Goal

This program will provide students with the  knowledge, skills and dispositions required for employment as an entry level Imaging Assistant in a healthcare setting, including hospitals and imaging centers.  The certificate can serve as either a terminal credential leading to employment, or as a foundation for continued study toward an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography or other medical imaging technology.

Students must complete 16.5-17.5 units of coursework consisting of 10.5 units of required courses, and 6-7 units of elective courses, as set forth below.
