The Certificate in Agricultural Leadership at Merced College offers specialized training to build leadership skills specifically for the agricultural sector. Through a selection of leadership-focused courses, students will develop practical skills in communication, personal development, team leadership, and public relations. This program prepares students for leadership roles within agricultural organizations, educational institutions, and community outreach programs. Completion of the certificate requires a minimum of 8 semester units.
A certificate of Achievement in Agricultural Leadership will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum listed below, with a minimum grade of a "C" (or P) in each course in the certificate and maintains a 2.0 GPA.
Based on historical enrollment numbers and the fact that leadership/ag ambassador classes are offered every semester, projection are 20-25 completers per year.

The Agricultural Leadership Certificate at Merced College is designed to equip students with the essential leadership and communication skills required for influential roles in agriculture-related organizations, community programs, and agribusiness settings. Through focused coursework, students will gain hands-on experience in communication, team leadership, and public relations, all tailored to the agriculture sector. The program’s overarching goal is to prepare students to serve as advocates for the agriculture industry, fostering community awareness, supporting personal and team growth, and engaging in outreach efforts that bridge agriculture and the wider community.
