Catalog Description

The A.S. in Artificial Intelligence (AI) equips students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in AI development, deployment, and ethical use. This program is interdisciplinary with courses in computer science, information systems, AI, and various other fields. The program emphasizes core concepts such as machine learning, data processing, neural networks, and AI applications in various industries. Objectives include enabling students to solve real-world problems by designing AI solutions, fostering critical thinking in data-driven environments, and preparing graduates for advanced education or entry-level positions in AI-related fields.

Enrollment Completer Projections

We expect strong enrollment once the program is offered and to exceed 300 students within 3 years.  We also expect completer projections to surpass students majoring in AI as we hope to create smaller AI certifications so students from various disciplines can get an AI certification concurrently.

AI projections could be analogous to Cybersecurity enrollment which increased from 34 students to 300 students in 5 years.  We expect AI to exceed cybersecurity enrollment as AI skills are more desirable than experience in a field of study according to CEO’s interviewed by Forbes magazine.
