Aerial Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry

This Certificate offers an introduction to the fundamentals of Aerial Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Mission Planning, Data Management, and Data Processing with emphasis on processing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, aka drones) data. 1. Plan aerial remote sensing missions. 

2. Gain familiarity with the concept of ground control for aerial photogrammetry and remote sensing. 

3. Gain familiarity with the least squares statistical method relating to aero triangulation and aerial survey control. 

4. Gain a basic proficiency in photogrammetric and remote sensing data processing and preparation.

This certificate provides enhanced employability and career advancement in the Civil Engineering Surveying and Geospatial Technology (CESGT) industry workplace. It also fosters improved preparation for state and federal licensure examinations.

This department currently runs degree and certificate programs in the following three areas: Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Geospatial Technologies. Aerial Remote Sensing is an extension of these existing programs. Two new courses are being developed for this program.

Neither College of Marin, Napa Valley College, nor Mendocino College offer a similar program.
