This program is for individuals who possess the registered respiratory therapist (RRT) credential and wish to advance their degree to the bachelor level. Course content focuses on advanced concepts in pathophysiology, diagnostics, critical care, biomedical ethics, education, leadership, and management, which will culminate into capstone and case management projects that offer real-world applications.
Our projection are as follows:
Annual Enrollment: 25
Annual Completers: This is a two-year program, we project 25 completers every two years.

The East Los Angeles College BSRT program has two major goals:
1.Prepare graduates with demonstrated advanced competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).
2.Prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care through the acquisition of skills of advanced clinical practice, management, and education.

Total graduation requirements include RRT credential (18 units credited), 51 transferable units, and 51 units of bachelor program curriculum credits to total 120 units to complete the Bachelor of Science, Respiratory Therapy degree at East Los Angeles College.
