Catalog Description

The Fundamentals of Fashion Design certificate equips students with the skills to apply fundamental level, industry-standard techniques in garment design and production. Students will gain hands-on experience through practical projects, allowing them to develop a strong foundation in fashion technology, illustration, pattern making, and garment construction.

Program Goal

The Fundamentals of Fashion Design certificate provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of fashion design, including garment construction, textile selection, and design aesthetics. Students will take 24 units of required course work that will provide them with  a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of fashion design, including garment construction, textile selection, and design aesthetics.  In addition, students will take a minimum of two units of elective course
