This Financial Planning & Investment I is designed for students who are interested in the business aspects of financial planning or investments. Students will understand the terminology of finance and express themselves analytically using time value of money concepts, liquidity analysis, profitability analysis, and equity management concepts, apply the tools of investing to determine the appropriateness of an investment, and develop and prepare a personal income statement and balance sheet.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to understand the terminology of finance and express themselves analytically using time value of money concepts, liquidity analysis, profitability analysis, and equity management concepts; be able to apply the tools of investing to determine the appropriateness of an investment; and be able to develop and prepare a personal income statement and balance sheet.

Program Requirement Narrative
The Financial Planning & Investment I program equips students with essential finance skills, including time value of money, liquidity and profitability analysis, and equity management. Core courses (Introduction to Finance and Investments) provide foundational knowledge, while electives such as Money and Banking, Money Management, or Financial Accounting offer specialized skills. Students gain proficiency in investment tools, personal financial planning, and preparing income statements and balance sheets, fostering analytical abilities crucial for effective financial decision-making and planning.
