Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
The Certificate of Achievement in ADU Remodeling is design to meet the growing demand for ADU construction in California. ADU (Accessory Dwelling Units) development and construction is in high demand, and our goal is to prepare students with the proper knowledge and skills to successfully enter the job market in this field. The ADU Certificate was developed through feedback from our annual Advisory board, which is made up of construction industry experts. Students will benefit from this certificate as a quicker route to the job market, while also earning credits towards the degree. Students will be able to find work as construction laborers, remodelers, and work towards their contractor’s license eligibility.

New Program
There are construction certificates of achievement and associate degrees at LBCC, this program aims to focus on a particular skillset compared to the broader Construction Technology programs.
There are similar programs at neighboring community colleges, including Orange Coast and Fullerton College, that offer a degree track in Construction Technology.
