Catalog Description

The Certificate of Achievement in Analog Photography combines artistic design with the technology of film processing. Students will explore the beauty and aesthetics of film photography while gaining the skills necessary to properly expose, process, and produce prints using a variety of traditional, historic, and experimental darkroom processes in the traditional wet darkroom. 

To earn a Certificate of Achievement in Analog Photography, students complete 21 specified units. This program will immerse students in a creative environment where they will develop their artistic abilities and technical expertise necessary to enter the very competitive profession of photography. Instruction is provided in both black and white and color photography. 

Enrollment Completer Projections

Five (5) students are projected to earn the certificate annually, with some of them supplementing their ADT in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Photography.

Program Goal
 
The Certificate of Achievement in Analog Photography provides students with the fundamental skills necessary to qualify for employment in the field of photography. This certificate of achievement consists of transfer-level courses and is stackable towards obtaining an AA or COA in Photography.

Occupational Competencies
Upon successful completion of Analog Photography, Certificate of Achievement (COA), students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the camera with a focus on techniques in analog
photography.
2. Demonstrate the essential skills required for employment in the field of photography.
