General Business is the study of basic principles, concepts and the language of organizations. The General business certificate focuses on employment preparation. Career paths chosen by students pursuing the General Business certificate include entry level and basic supervisory general business positions. Even students who choose not to major in general business find that coursework in the field can improve their ability to think critically, problem solve, manage their lives, and understand the business issues that engage our world, our country, and our communities.

Program Goal
The General Business Certificate of Achievement provides students with practical basic business knowledge necessary for success early in their business careers. Students learn how businesses operate, how businesses benefit society and the economy, and the core elements necessary for personal success in business. In addition, students have the ability to tailor the certificate based on their specific areas of business interest. upon successful completion of the General Business Certificate of Achievement, student should be able to: Demonstrate a basic understanding of business in today's society and Recognize attributes necessary for personal success in today's business environment.
