New Program

Place of program in college's curriculum/similar program.
This new program builds upon two existing courses currently offered in the Science Division. Biology 185 and 285, directed studies courses that cover cell culture and molecular biology. However they are only offered one semester per year and do not provide the in-depth curriculum that the Biotechnology Lab Technician Certificate of Achievement will offer our students. The Biotechnology Lab Technician program will give enrolled students hands-on experience in many areas of Biotechnology. The certificate earned could be used to either obtain a job in the biotechnology industry or improve their chances for advancement within their current biotechnology company.
List similar programs at other colleges in the Los Angeles and Orange County Region.
Biotech programs are part of the regional strong workforce grant projects.
Annual Enrollment projects (non-duplicative)
