This certificate is designed to be a comprehensive 2-year study in both Virtual and Augmented Reality (AR/VR) within the growing field of Immersive Media. It includes targeted courses in the related specializations necessary for a well-rounded base of knowledge and practice. Transitioning from simple 360-degree video and audio capture, through computer graphic-based 3D modeling and video game development principles, the student will gradually add higher level skill and increased immersion into the course content. An Advanced Development Lab will be offered as the summit of the program to allow students ample access to the specialized technology needed to create portfolio-level VR and AR projects with the intent of using these works to obtain gainful employment and/or internships in this rapidly growing field.
When completed, the Immersive Media (AR/VR) certificate provides students with training for mastery of the basic skills required for entry-level employment in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Multimedia and Gaming industry jobs in the sub-specialties of 360-video, 360 Audio, VR/AR development and content creation, Immersive Game Design & 3D modeling, and finally Drone Imagery for Immersive Media.

The Immersive Media (AR/VR) certificate provides students with training for mastery of the basic skills required for entry-level employment in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Multimedia and Gaming industry jobs in the sub-specialties of 360-video, 360 Audio, VR/AR development and content creation, Immersive Game Design & 3D modeling, and finally Drone Imagery for Immersive Media. The program including internship opportunities will also prepare students for success as entrepreneurs and sole-business owners and independent contractors providing specialty services in VR/AR and multimedia/immersive media across industry sectors including cinema, television and video production, among others. Job titles/positions for which this program prepares graduates include VR Content Creator, VR developer, AR Developer, 360 Cinematographer, 360 Spatial Sound Designer, VR Game Developer (Unity, Unreal), ED Capture Assistant and Location-Based VR Arcade Attendant.
