Certificate of Achievement – Biotechnology Laboratory Skills
New Program
Biotechnology and Biomedical Technology (043000)
09/02/25
The Certificate of Achievement in Biotechnology Laboratory Skills provides students with foundational knowledge in biotechnology, essential laboratory techniques, professional development, and workplace practices. Students gain hands-on experience with molecular biology methods, aseptic technique, data analysis, and documentation within a regulated laboratory environment. The curriculum emphasizes the scientific method, ethical practices, and project workflow in the biotechnology industry, while also introducing concepts of accessibility and inclusive design in laboratory settings. This certificate prepares students for entry-level employment in biotechnology or further academic advancement. Students may continue their training through additional stackable certificates—such as the Certificate of Achievement in Biotechnology/Life Sciences Laboratory Assistant or the Certificate of Achievement in Biotechnology & Cell Science Laboratory Technician—or pursue the A.S. in Biotechnology.
We estimate approximately 10 completer's per year.
