Human Resources Management Associate of Science and Human Resources Management Certificate of Achievement
The goals and objectives of these programs are to provide students with the four “P’s”: principles, practices, process, and procedures for professionals who wish to upgrade their skills or seek human resources management positions. This includes planning, directing, or coordinating human resources activities and staffing. Most courses are transferable to CSUs. These programs prepare students to lead and manage business operations in a variety of workplace settings.
There is an undersupply of Human Resources Management workers compared to the demand for this cluster of occupations in the Bay region and in the Mid-Peninsula sub-region (San Francisco and San Mateo). The annual gap is about 98 students annually in the Bay region and 89 in the Mid-Peninsula sub-region.
Upon completion of these programs, students will be able to:
- Identify the laws relevant to avoiding discrimination in human resources management to support a diverse workforce.
- Explain the process and procedures involved in staffing and employee engagement to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Determine appropriate HR communication channels to strategically send messages.
- Explain the legal ramifications of ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability in the global business environment.
