The Certificate of Achievement in Film, Television & Media Arts: Directing introduces students to the fundamentals of directing for film and television. This award will better prepare students seeking a career in the entertainment industry as a director or a position on the directing team.

After successfully completing a FTMA Certificate of Achievement in Film, Television & Media Arts: Directing, a student could be hired as a: production assistant, production associate, assistant to the director, associate director, 2nd assistant director, 1st assistant director,casting director, casting director assistant, stage manager, floor manager,technical director, unit production manager, and other positions on the directing team.

Program Goal

A Certificate of Achievement in Directing from Film,Television & Media Arts (FTMA) creates a valid Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway for students. Students who complete a certificate will gain valuable skills that they can use in securing an entry level position in the film, television, broadcasting, cable, streaming, radio, podcasting, and social media industries.
