The Nutrition and Food Entrepreneur Certificate equips students with the essential skills to successfully launch and manage their own nutrition or food business. This program can also help established nutrition professionals to further develop their expertise in business management. Courses cover key areas of nutrition, food, and business management, preparing students to create, distribute, and market nutrition and food-related products and services. This certificate requires 20-22 units. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.

Program Proposal Attributes

Upon successful completion of the certificate, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the core skills and knowledge to operate or manage a business in the nutrition and food industry.
- Identify and utilize the principles of entrepreneurial management to create a basic business plan for a nutrition or food business.

New Program
This unique program was developed by the Nutrition and Foods Department and Business Department at Fullerton College. The curriculum will be housed under Nutrition and Foods, where we currently offer four certificates and two degrees. The certificates include the Nutrition and Foods Certificate, Dietary Manager Certificate, Sports Nutrition Certificate, and Plant-Based Nutrition and Sustainable Horticulture Certificate. The degrees include the Nutrition and Dietetics Associate in Science Degree for Transfer (AS-T) and the Nutrition and Foods Associate in Arts Degree (AA).
This program is unique, and there do not appear to be any similar programs at other colleges in the Orange County Region.
