Mechanical Drafting and Design

This certificate will help students prepare for a future in mechanical drafting and design as an entry level mechanical drafter and will prepare students for continuation in the DigitalDesign Graphics Technology Program.  Uponsuccessful completion of the required classes for the Mechanical Drafting andDesign Certificate, students will be prepared for employment in entry levelmechanical drafting, design, and related fields.  Students will have the ability to communicatesuccessfully using industry standards and terminology.  Students will be able to create detailed 2Ddrawing plans based off of 3D models and create physical 3d Printed prototypesusing the latest release of the Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Fusion 360software.

The goals and objectives of this program are to increase students’ employabilityand effectiveness by providing a stackable certificate linked to occupationalneeds of the industry.

DDGT120 Digital Design Graphics Technology 1, 7 units, to be taken in fall of year1. DDGT121 Digital Design Graphics Technology 2, 7 units, to be taken in spring yr 1. And DDGT130 Introduction to 3D Printing, 3 units, to be taken in fall or spring of year1.
