Catalog Description

The Engineering Technology Associate of Scienceis designed to prepare students for entry-level technical work in a variety of fields and businesses. The degree is also designed to prepare students with additional coursework for transfer to a four-year university.

Enrollment Completer Projections

After two years 20 students are expected to earn the degree annually.

Program Goal

The Engineering Technology Associate of Science is designed to provide students with practical, career-oriented skills for technical environments using current industry technologies. Students receive hands-on experience in the fundamentals of AutoCAD, basic electronic circuit skills, Computer Numerical Controls (CNCs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in addition to the basics of robotics.  

The Degree is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program designed for students who are interested in engineering but may lack the mathematical fortitude. It is also aimed to serve those in the community who work in technical industries looking to learn new skills.

Engineering Technology Associate of Science Goals:

1 – Provide a quality education that will prepare students to work with Computer Numerical Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers and electronic circuits.

2 – Prepare students to become successfully employed in the tech and manufacturing industry.

3 – Prepare students to work with engineers and designers.

The required core courses in this program may be completed quickly in two years. Courses labeled I and II are to be taken in sequential eight-week courses in one semester (e.g. CNC I and II, PLC I and II and DC circuits I and II).
