Catalog Description
The Electronics Technology - Manufacturing Associate Certificate of Achievement prepares students for entry-level positions as operators, technicians, and supervisors in the manufacturing and production industry. This program provides hands-on training in key areas such as electronics, safety, quality control, and industrial processes, ensuring students develop the technical skills required in modern manufacturing environments. Students will complete a core set of courses focused on fundamental manufacturing principles and safety standards, while also selecting from a range of electives to specialize in areas such as welding, machining, robotics, computer-aided design, and industrial control systems. Graduates will be equipped with practical skills in operating machinery, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to efficient production processes, meeting the evolving demands of the industry.
Enrollment Completer Projections

Based on industry demand, established employer partnerships, and regional workforce needs, it is projected that the Certificate of Achievement in Electronics Technology - Manufacturing Associate will produce approximately 30 completers annually once the program is fully established. Tesla’s Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) plays a key role in this projection, as the company recruits up to 40 students each year to participate in the program through paid internships. While 40 students typically begin the program annually through this partnership, it is anticipated that around 30 will complete the full sequence of coursework and earn the certificate each year. This consistent employer-supported enrollment provides a strong foundation for the program’s sustainability and impact. In addition to the Tesla cohort, the program is open to all San Joaquin Delta College students who wish to pursue a career in advanced manufacturing or electronics technology. While future enrollment from the broader student population is difficult to quantify at this stage, the program is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all interested students. As awareness of the certificate grows and its value becomes more widely recognized, the college anticipates interest from a diverse range of learners. This flexibility ensures the program can respond to changing student demand while continuing to support regional workforce development.
