Goal of Program

CTE & Transfer

Include any other information you would like to share.
While this is technically a "new" certificate of achievement, it was formerly a certificate of accomplishment for four years. This is an important program to the Bay Area, as it is the only patternmaking focused certificate.
Please list similar programs at other colleges in the service area which may be impacted, including the name of the college, the name of the program that may be impacted, the name of the person you contacted and the outcome of that contact.
Looking at the programs at Alameda, Skyline, and Canada, this is a unique offering. Alameda and Skyline do not delve into computerized patternmaking or grading. Canada's certificates "Technical- Apparel Industry Oriented" and "Custom Dressmaking/ Small Business" cover certain aspects of the same patternmaking techniques, but split between these two certificates. We have had this Certificate for several years as a Certificate of Accomplishment. We made some minor changes to it as a Certificate of Achievement, creating a more robust program. We sent an email to Ronda Cheney, Fashion Department Coordinator of Canada college. chaney@smccd.edu
