Catalog Description

The purpose of the Vocational Nursing Curriculum is to prepare students to apply for a License Vocational Nurse through the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technicians. The Focus of this program is on human development, the application of basic nursing skills while caring for clients throughout their lifespan who have physical and mental disorders, nursing activities that promote healthy lifestyles, and the Vocational Nurse as a member of an inter-professional team.

Program Requirements Narrative

The students will complete prerequisite courses and submit a physical examination clearance and immunizations, fingerprints, and background checks. Students complete a program application and selection process, and attend mandatory orientation prior to beginning the program.
