Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (095600)
08/31/27
The Robotics Specialist program provides a comprehensive curriculum that blends real-world skill-sets and useful knowledge that prepares students for successful entry into the robotics industry and establish a successful career. This certificate and skills program is tailored to both new learners and seasoned professionals seeking to update their skills. Upon fulfilling the certificate, students will acquire expertise in designing robots, prototyping robot builds, industry-recognized certifications, robot maintenance, and robot operations. Integrated into our program is the use of 3D printers, computer-aided design, robotic arms, underwater drones, and other technologies that enables students to have knowledge and skill-sets applicable for both current and emerging job offerings. Upon successful completion, students may qualify for positions such as a robotic technician, robot designer, and robot operator

Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
With a revamped and expanded program, our goal is to stand out among local schools and become the top choice for students within the area served. By offering this specialized certificate, we will distinguish ourselves from other colleges that offer robotics courses, both in terms of the diverseness of the offerings and a completion that leads to meaningful employment opportunities for students. We have redesigned and expanded the robotics program to directly support the local economy, which has a growing robotics presence (including underwater robotics), and the California robotics industry as a whole. This initiative addresses the growing industry demands for qualified roboticists within various sub-sets of the robotics industry, which provides students with maximized opportunities to work within the robotics industry of their choosing.
