The Workplace Readiness low-unit Certificate of Achievement teaches students to use professional behavior in the workplace with an emphasis on soft skills. Students learn to use appropriate oral communications, including tone, body language, attitude, interpersonal communications, teamwork, and other factors. Students learn how to build positive, appropriate relations with superiors, colleagues/co-workers, customers, clients, and other stakeholders. Students will develop emotional intelligence, personal  responsibility, time management skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills,  a sense of self-worth, and an appreciation of the importance of human behavior at work.  The program will also address Ethics/Social Responsibility, information literacy, understanding of diversity and its benefits, creativity and innovation,  leadership skill, and their roles in the workplace.

This certificate addresses in depth the workplace behavior and performance that employers most frequently request and emphasize. They are especially important for any jobs that require interaction between the employee and clients, customers, and coworkers.
