The Industrial Electrical Technology level I Certificate of Achievement provides students the fundamental skills for career paths in the electrical trades, sales, construction, industry, and utility companies. Completing the certificate requirements students form a foundation in electrical theory, blueprint reading, and the ability to use the National Electrical Code book (NEC NFPA 70). They also gain knowledge of energy sources including photo voltaic systems. Courses assist students to develop communication, and teamwork skills. Knowledge acquired throughout the certificate program readies first time employees, entering the trade.

Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 8 to fewer than 16 semester (or 12 to fewer than 24 quarter) units (B)
Upon the successful completion of theIndustrial Electrical Technology Level I Certificate of Achievement, studentsshall be able perform the following tasks:
- Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Observe circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Professional use of machines and tools commonly employed in the field of industrial electricity, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Application of appropriate codes within the National Electrical Code.
- Identify appropriate installation of photovoltaic equipment.
Students will develop a base knowledgein the following areas:
- Electrical theory — Knowledge of electrical equipment, AC & DC motors, electrical schematics and electrical hardware and devices, including applications and photovoltaic equipment.
- Motor Control — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses.
