The Automotive Suspension Technician Certificate of Achievement prepares students for a career as automotive technicians with suspension alignment as an emphasis. Students completing the certificate will be trained in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of vehicle suspension systems that consist tire service, brake system diagnostics, suspension and steering service on both import and domestic vehicles and light trucks. This certificate prepares students for careers such as Automotive Suspension Technician, Automotive Alignment Technician ,Automotive Brake Technician, and General Automotive Technician. This program is ideal for the small-business owner, independent shop, or the dealership career-oriented technician. The Automotive Suspension Technician Certificate of Achievement is a low unit certificate that will build on the completion of Beginning Technician Certificate of Achievement.

Program Goal

The Automotive Suspension Technician Certificate of Achievement is a low unit certificate that will build on the completion of Beginning Technician Certificate of Achievement. The Automotive Suspension Technician Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare the student for entry into the specialized field of tire service (mount, balance, repair tires and wheels), brake system diagnostics (disc and drum brake system, diagnosis, service, and repair), suspension and steering system service and repair on both import and domestic passenger vehicles and light trucks. Students who successfully complete the requirements for the Automotive Suspension Technician Certificate will be able to perform basic automotive maintenance, diagnosis, service operations, and be immediately productive on the job.
