This curriculum is designed to provide employable skills essential to logging equipment operations and maintenance in a natural environment and emphasizes the "learning-by-doing" method of instruction on modern up-to-date equipment.

Enrollment Completer Projections

Anticipated completion of 15 students in Year 1, and target 20 students annually after Year 2.

Program Goal

Program Goals and Objectives are to prepare students for an entry-level position in the logging industry as a logging equipment operator.

Program Requirements

This certificate shares the foundation of the Heavy Equipment Operations and Maintenance Certificate, which allows students to complete two certificates in three semesters, if desired. The new CONS XX Heavy Logging Equipment Operations and Maintenance course (3 units) lab course is taken as a co-requisite of AGNR 50 (Introduction to Forest Operations). This lab requires enrollment in a Federal level drug testing program. The new course is in the approval process.
