Our Public Safety Dispatch Program equips students with the essential skills for a successful career in emergency communications. Through hands-on training and real-world scenarios, students will learn effective call-taking, incident prioritization, and crisis management techniques. By the end of the program, graduates will demonstrate proficiency in multi-tasking under pressure, utilizing dispatch technology, and coordinating responses with law enforcement and emergency services. Prepare to be a vital link in the public safety network!

Program Goal

The goal of this program is to develop competent dispatch professionals that possess strong communication skills and can analyze situations quickly to make informed decisions to prioritize responses to allocate resources effectively. The objective of this program is that students will demonstrate technical proficiency to use dispatch technology and equipment through practical simulations. Additionally, students will apply techniques for managing high-stress situations and effectively communicate with callers and responders while demonstrating an awareness and skills to handle diverse populations sensitively and effectively in emergency situations.

Public Safety Dispatch Program: this certificate of achievement consists of 3 courses to prepare students for employment in public safety dispatch and other dispatch occupations. The courses include the technical training in emergency dispatch, interpersonal communication, and stress management.
