Students who complete the Digital Public Relations Certificate will graduate with a professional portfolio stocked with current digital projects they have completed that are relevant to their field of study in Digital Public Relations. They will be introduced to various current trends in the field and offered internship options at the campus and community level. The Moorpark College Digital Journalism Program partners with various Public Relations Marketing Firms and offers opportunities for internships for those that complete the Digital Public Relations Certificate. 

Enrollment Completer Projections

Based on numbers from past years, there are an estimated number of 24-28 students per year completing the three courses, M16, M10B, and M14. With the added incentive of obtaining the Digital Public Relations Certificate through course completion, there is a prediction that the course numbers will increase yearly. Students who complete this certificate will be able to graduate from Moorpark with a sought out mastered skill set. Students who choose to step straight into the career world will also have multiple professional opportunities available to them at entry and median level positions in the field of Digital Public Relations.

Program Goal

Moorpark College’s Digital Journalism & Public Relations Program offers a completely online three-course Digital Public Relations Certificate. The Digital Public Relations Certificate is intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related major, or for those who plan to attain an entry-level position in a Digital Public Relations or Marketing Firm. Students completing this 10-unit online Digital Public Relations Certificate leave with a professional portfolio website, published work, and PR field experience.
