Program Requirements Narrative

Data science is a discipline that combines statistics and computing. This Data Science Certificate of Achievement gives students marketable knowledge and skills that students can apply in the workplace or towards four-year degrees. Completing one of the required statistics courses offers students the fundamental understanding necessary for data science. The two computer science courses allow students to have introductory and intermediate experience in programming. Finally, the sequence of data science courses introduces students to the specific skills needed for data science.
