Catalog Description
This program is designed for the prospective and current small business owner/manager, including Gig workers and free lancers, as well as those seeking to become significant contributors to any small business and those interested in intrepreneurship within larger organizations. The curriculum is centered on an array of structural, relationship, and process elements such as financial and physical assets, leadership/management/customer issues, human relations, planning, and marketing. Elective courses allow the student to customize the program to their particular needs and interests while still ensuring the graduate understands and demonstrates knowledge required for small business/entrepreneur success.

Program Goal
The Small Business Certificate of Achievement provides students with practical success-oriented skills for evaluating, launching, growing and managing small businesses. Students receive instruction in: the fundamentals of assessing business ideas in light of customer needs and the competitive environment Understanding the criteria needed to make entrepreneurs and small business leaders successful Evaluating business financial position and opportunities for success. In addition, students have the ability tailor the certificate based on their specific areas of business interest Upon successful completion of the Small Business Certificate of Achievement, students should be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of the unique aspects of starting and/or managing a small business; Diagnose opportunities for success and growth in various elements of a small business environment.
