The Certificate of Achievement and AS degree program in General Electrician provides instruction for those seeking a career as a non-union electrician. This meets the state requirements as an electrician trainee program. The students will be required to complete 10 courses to achieve the certificate. Concurrent employment in the electrical trades is encouraged upon starting the program.

This program will prepare students for employment in the Electrical Industry. An electric technician card can be applied for and received during semester 1, and concurrent employment is strongly encouraged during semester 1 and on into their long-term education.

Within the Electrician department in the Business and Career Education Division
Santiago Canyon College works with the trade electricians. This is a non-union credit program. Orange Coast College, Coastline and Irvine Valley are listed as having programs but the average three year awards, discounting the trade program at our own college, is 22.
