The Entrepreneurship program is designed to provide knowledge and skills that will help a student to start, maintain, and grow a small business. Courses emphasize feasibility analysis, legal considerations, financial management, marketing plans, and sales techniques.  Skills and knowledge gained in this program will allow students to pursue various entrepreneurial interests.

Program Goal

This program is designed to help a student learn to successfully launch, maintain and grow an entrepreneurial venture, or to effectively provide support to an entrepreneur.

At completion of the program, students will be able to effectively apply and utilize the small businesses principles and techniques they have learned in a business environment or advance in a four-year college entrepreneurship program.

Program Requirements Narrative

To be awarded this certificate, students must complete all required coursework listed below with  a grade of “C” or better.  A grade notation of  “CR” or “P” will be accepted as the equivalent of a “C”.  At least 3 units in an advanced course from the certificate must be completed at OCC, and any substitutions or course equivalencies will be determined and allowed at the department’s discretion.
