The Certificate of Achievement in Studio Lighting introduces students to the fundamentals of using artificial light in a photographic studio and on location. This award will prepare students seeking a career in the commercial photography industry as a photographer or as a photographer's assistant.

- Certificate of Achievement: 8 to fewer than 16 semester (or 12 to fewer than 24 quarter) units (B)
The current Studio Lighting Proficiency Award is being converted to a Certificate of Achievement in Studio Lighting.
Students will achieve proficiency in lighting principles and use of professional equipment in the studio and location environments. Students will be able to become photographers or photographer's assistants in portraiture, group portraiture, product photography, fashion, advertising, industrial, and editorial photography.
