The current Advisory Committee Members include social work and human services leaders from the following agencies: Salvation Army, Goodwill, Jewish Family Services, and many others around San Diego County. It was their recommendation for this program this service area and throughout the state.

Enrollment and Complete Projections

The certificate program should not have any problem attracting students, especially students with the Restorative Justice program.

Let's face it, social work as a field has lots of issues with both education and wages post graduation. But we are facing a crisis in mental health. So because of those reasons, I support.

Wages look low. Social work is mentioned in the program narrative but the wages and job data is for Addiction and Recovery Counseling. Do we have the right LMI?

DAT

Dr. Al Taccone   ·  03/27/22

MiraCosta College endorses based on the supply gap, though, the living wage earned is below the percentage of students who complete CE programs in general.

Southwestern College submitted the appropriate LMI from the COE. The COE recommends proceeding with developing a program because 1) a supply gap exists for this occupation; 2) their entry-level and median earnings are above the living wage; and 3) a high number of annual openings exist. The colleges should note that the percentage of students who complete a related programs and earn a living wage is below the percentage of students who complete Career Education programs in general.
