Certificate of Achievement in Accounting

The Accounting Certificate of Achievement provides the student with the industry skills for entry-level accounting positions in business, government, industry and financial institutions. Upon successful completion of the program students will be able to:

• Demonstrate working knowledge of accounting practice and procedures their application to financial 
• Utilize financial information for management, investor, clients, or fellow professionals
• Demonstrate ethical course actions for employers, clients, co-workers, and general public

The occupational goal is to develop skills to prepare students for entry-level accounting positions in Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks.

Along with the globalization and increasingly complex regulatory frameworks, the growth of the "fintech" industry means the demand for finance and accounting professionals will continue to rise for the foreseeable future.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (https://www.bls.gov/ooh/business-and-financial/home.htm), employment for the financial occupations is expected to grow 10 percent by 2026, introducing more than 773,800 new jobs to the marketplace.  As the financial industry evolves, companies are racing to find new finance and accounting talent, making it an opportune time for students to upskill and break into the field by completing the certificate of achievement.
