The Flight Operations - Professional Pilot certificate program at San Bernardino Valley College prepares students for a dynamic career in aviation, providing comprehensive flight training, and ground school instruction in aerodynamics, navigation and aviation regulations. This certificate program is designed for students aspiring to become professional pilots, offering a strong foundation in both the technical and practical aspects of flight operations. Through state-of-the-art simulators and real-world flight training, students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue FAA certification as commercial pilots. Program Goals:
- Technical Mastery and Flight Competency: Equip students with comprehensive technical knowledge and hands-on flight experience to operate various types of aircraft safely and efficiently.
- Safety and Regulatory Adherence: Instill a deep understanding of aviation safety principles and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards.
- Career Readiness and Professionalism: Prepare students for successful careers as professional pilots by developing their skills, providing industry insights, and facilitating networking opportunities.
Objectives:
Technical Mastery and Flight Competency
- Provide in-depth instruction on aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, aircraft systems, and flight operations.
- Ensure students complete the necessary flight training hours and obtain certifications, including Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
- Utilize state-of-the-art flight simulators and real aircraft to give students hands-on experience and practical skills.
Safety and Regulatory Adherence
- Teach students the principles of aviation safety, risk management, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure thorough understanding and adherence to FAA regulations and guidelines.
