Civil Engineering Technology

The Civil Engineering Technology Associate of Science degree program prepares the students for engineering internships working under the direction of civil engineers, surveyors, contractors and architects. The program concentrates on the planning, design and construction of infrastructures and facilities through the use of problem-based learning, project-based learning and standard industry tools and emerging technologies. Students in this program prepare to transfer to B.S. programs in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Construction Engineering Management  as junior-level students.

To utilize their academic experience attained from class lectures, laboratory projects, technical demonstrations and direct interactions with industry professionals in technical working environments

To understand and utilize knowledge related to mechanics of deformable bodies

To develop skills for the application of linear algebra and differential equations

This 60 unit degree includes 8 courses [28 units] of required coursework and 6-14 additional units of required electives with the balance of coursework including general education courses.
