Catalog Description
The associate degree program is designed to prepare students for upper division course work and transfer, leading to a baccalaureate degree in enology at a CSU or UC institution. The curriculum prepares students for entry level positions in the wine industry including wine production, quality assurance and control, vineyard management and grape production.

Program Goal
The mission of Reedley College is to provide students with high-quality learning opportunities, train students to meet workforce needs, and prepare students for transfer. Students completing this program will have entry level skills needed to enter the enology/viticulture industry. Students wishing to continue their education may be able to transfer to CSU Fresno’s Enology/Viticulture program. Upon completion of the enology program, students will: 1) know fundamentals of the wine industry and its history 2) learn the scientific principles and applied practices associated with winemaking 3) recognize the desirable characteristics of wine grapes and their management practices 4) conduct wine analyses and apply effective amendments 5) demonstrate winery equipment and chemical safety procedures 6) identify, describe and appreciate wine properties, faults and quality
