Students will explore animation concepts and develop skills through hands-on experience using industry standard hardware, software and motion capture systems; Students will also learn and employ techniques in storytelling and character development for both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional animation that is used in broadcast media, gaming and simulation, motion graphics, web design, and VR/AR. Students will develop an animation portfolio representing their skills and work product suitable for use in applying for entry-level employment and/or applications to education institutions of their choice for further study.

Students will gain the foundational knowledge and technical skills to be prepared to successfully gain employment in fields such as broadcast media, gaming and simulation, motion graphics, web design, and AR/VR in occupations such as texture artist, visual development artist, effects animator, character rigger, character animator, cartoonist, background painter, video game design assistant, stop motion animator, flash animator and/or 3D modeler.
