The Analytical Chemistry Technician program at Modesto Junior College is designed to prepare students for careers as analytical chemistry technicians through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on laboratory experience. The program includes courses on chemical safety, laboratory techniques, instrumentation operation and maintenance, data interpretation, and quality control. Prerequisite skills include basic math and English skills. Student learning outcomes include proficiency in using analytical instruments, conducting chemical analyses, troubleshooting common issues, and adhering to industry standards.

Upon satisfactory completion of this program, the student should be prepared to:
- Enter an entry-level position as an analytical chemistry technician in many industries such as pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, food and beverage production, and more.
- Operate analytical instrumentation, conduct chemical analyses, interpret data, and ensure quality control.
- Demonstrate practical skills and problem-solving abilities relevant to the field of analytical chemistry.
- Obtain industry-recognized certifications and credentials.
